Brother Nathaniel L. Mitchell  

Brother Nathaniel L. Mitchell was born and raised in San Francisco, California. Nathaniel was reared along with his brother by his loving mother, Gladys Mitchell and late Grand-parent’s, Deacon Everett, Sr. and Sister Dorothy Patton. Nathaniel accepted Christ at a early age. During his formative years he and his family were members of the Double Rock Missionary Baptist Church of San Francisco, California under the pastorate of the late Dr. Victor L. Medaris (his uncle). During spiritual transition he and his family then joined the Providence Baptist Church of San Francisco, California under the pastorate of the late Reverend Calvin Jones, Sr., where Nathaniel accepted Christ at the age of ten and was baptized and where he is currently a active member.

Nathaniel is currently employed by UCSF Medical Center, Parnassus Campus in Patient Services.

Nathaniel has served in various ministries of the Providence Baptist Church. He has served as a Jr. Laymen, Sunday School Teacher, member of the Baptist Training Union and Men’s Ministry where he served as 2nd Vice President and is now serving as 1st Vice President. In addition to his service to the Providence Baptist Church , Nathaniel has served in the Home and Foreign Mission District Association Men’s Ministry as 2nd Vice President and is now
serving as President.

Nathaniel has been married to Shelley D. Mitchell since July 15, 2000. He is a proud uncle of his nephew Herman William Mitchell IV and he and his wife Shelley are the proud god-parents of Frank Hall and Naomi Williams.

Nathaniel accredits his spiritual growth to his strong Faith in Christ, late grandparents, his mother, brother, Herman Mitchell III, his wife, extended family , Pastor Emeritus Reverend Calvin Jones, Jr., the Providence Men’s Ministry and his Providence Church Family.
